Bitcoin Rally Faces Pressure from Miner Flows and Profit-Taking
Bitcoin's recent rally is being put to the test by two major on-chain signals. The first comes from CryptoQuant, which reported that Bitcoin miner flows to Binance hit a record 19,866 BTC on September 21.
This figure is significant because it has only been surpassed once before, when it reached 25,000 BTC in late August. Amr Taha of CryptoQuant framed this as a test of price resilience rather than a bearish signal, noting that most miner-to-exchange flow events near or above 20,000 BTC have not been followed by an immediate decline.
Additionally, Glassnode data shows that holders of Bitcoin are taking profits, with over $5 billion in realized gains so far. This is a relatively low amount compared to major market tops, but it could still be a challenge for the cryptocurrency's rally.
The combination of these two signals could put pressure on Bitcoin's price as it tries to shake off a recent retracement that saw it dip below $84,000 after moving above $87,000 for the first time since January. With spot Bitcoin ETFs continuing to attract capital and record net inflows of over $2 billion so far this month, the market will be closely watching how Bitcoin responds to these challenges.
