Bitcoin Rally Ignites Altcoin Surge, DOGE and SUI Lead Charge
The Bitcoin price surged to its highest level since January, but it was not the only cryptocurrency that saw significant gains. According to TradingView, Dogecoin (DOGE) rose by 12.2%, followed closely by Sui (SUI) at 8.3%, and XRP (XRP) at 6.2%.
These altcoins outpaced Bitcoin's rise of over 2% in the past day, with Cardano (ADA) and Solana (SOL) also seeing significant gains. The Altseason Index stood at 62, suggesting an 'altcoin season' might be underway.
The rally was fueled by short covering, ETF demand, and renewed risk appetite, according to CryptoQuant. Glassnode noted that a tight cluster of shorts on Bitcoin between $82,000 and $86,000 helped fuel the rally as traders were forced to cover their positions.
On-chain analyst Willy Woo said the rally has room to run for up to four weeks before turning overbought. He pointed to a recent cool-off in his oscillator indicator while price remained strong, indicating buying demand exceeding short-term profit-taking.
