Bitcoin Range-Bounds as BlackRock Sees Strength in US Debt Burden
The crypto market has been experiencing slower price action this week following last week's powerful rally. Bitcoin is currently trading in the $77,000 to $78,000 range, with traders waiting to see if the recent recovery can extend further.
Ethereum has held up relatively well, trading between approximately $2,450 and $2,500, while XRP has given back part of its recent advance. The token has slipped from around $1.50 toward $1.40 as traders take some profits following its impressive rebound.
Away from price action, there are several key developments in the crypto space. One such development comes from BlackRock's head of digital assets, Robbie Mitchnick, who argued that rising U.S. government debt and persistent fiscal deficits are once again becoming an important concern for financial markets. Mitchnick stated that this matters because part of Bitcoin's investment thesis rests on scarcity.
