Bitcoin Rebound Drives Stocks Like Coinbase and MicroStrategy
The crypto market has seen a rebound in recent months, with Bitcoin's price rising over 41% since its year-to-date low in July. This marks a significant turnaround from the downturn that followed its all-time high in October 2025.
Several factors are contributing to this recovery, including institutional demand, which has increased after months of outflows. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded billions of dollars in inflows in August and September, while corporate treasuries and crypto whales absorbed market liquidity as summer wound down.
Two stocks that offer indirect exposure to the crypto rebound are Coinbase COIN and Strategy MSTR. Coinbase is a digital asset and crypto platform that has seen its shares rise 36% since its year-to-date low in February, despite missing on earnings in Q2. The company's fundamentals have improved as Bitcoin bounces back, with revenue growth marking an improvement over the previous quarter.
Strategy MSTR, a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company, has also seen significant gains, rallying nearly 91% since its year-to-date low in June. However, its performance closely resembles that of Bitcoin, introducing exceptionally high volatility to holders' portfolios.
