Bitcoin Rebounds Above $80,000 Amid Regulatory Relief
Bitcoin regained its footing above $80,000 after a brief pullback following the U.S. Senate's failure to pass the Clarity bill on September 15.
The price of Bitcoin rose about 5 percent over the past 24 hours to trade near $80,800, according to CoinGecko data, with TradingView showing it climbing to $81,034 on Bitstamp and marking a local peak.
Investor sentiment recovered after the CFTC and SEC moved on crypto-related measures using existing authority, including issuing a no-action relief measure for a provider of passive software and temporarily easing requirements for some platforms that support on-chain trading of tokenized securities.
Crypto-related stocks surged across the board on September 18, with Strategy leading gains, rising more than 13 percent, followed by Coinbase and American Bitcoin climbing about 11 percent each, and Robinhood jumping nearly 9 percent.
