Bitcoin Rebounds Above $80K Amid US Regulation Setbacks
The cryptocurrency market had a bumpy week, but Bitcoin managed to rebound above $80,000. This recovery came despite setbacks in crypto legislation and a 25-basis-point interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The U.S. Senate failed to advance the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act, which aimed to create clearer rules for cryptocurrencies in the United States. The bill needed 60 votes to move forward but received only 50, with four Republican senators joining Democrats in voting against it.
Bitcoin had been trading mostly between $75,000 and $78,000 earlier in the week before climbing more than 5% on Friday to reclaim its place above $80,000. The rebound was likely influenced by traders adjusting to a tighter interest-rate outlook.
