Bitcoin Reclaiming 50-Week MA Could Mark End of Bear Market
Galaxy Research has analyzed past Bitcoin cycles and found a key technical hurdle that could confirm the current bear market has ended. The firm's analysis shows that when Bitcoin reclaims its 50-week moving average, it often marks the end of a bear market.
According to Galaxy Research, the 50-week MA currently sits at $82,470, and Bitcoin is trading at around $78,114. This means that reclaiming the 50-week MA would require a price increase of about 6.4% from current levels.
The analysis found that in 11 out of 13 completed bear markets since 2011, Bitcoin reclaimed its 50-week MA during the recovery phase, and these reclaims often held for extended periods of time. In fact, successful 50-week signals can experience whipsaws, but Bitcoin never printed a new bear-market low after those events.
