Bitcoin Recovers Amid Increased Trading Activity
Bitcoin is trading near $82,949, which is about 5% below its level at the start of 2026. This has kept a key question in focus: can Bitcoin erase its year-to-date losses before December comes to an end?
The cryptocurrency's recent recovery toward $86,000 is being driven by spot buyers, according to blockchain data firm Glassnode. Frederik Theissen at Glassnode noted that exchange taker flow switched from net selling to net buying during the latest uptrend.
Spot trading volumes and price momentum have also improved without showing signs of being overstretched. However, the resistance zone between $85,000 and $87,300 remains the primary barrier for a larger breakout, as per Coinpaper's analysis.
Futures open interest climbed above its historical high band, and funding rates rose above their normal range, indicating that traders are spending more to hold leveraged long positions. This can increase overall market volatility.
