Bitcoin Resists Mideast Tensions as Altcoins Surge
Despite rising tensions between the US and Iran, Bitcoin has managed to hold its ground at around $80,000. Major altcoins like Ethereum and Solana also saw significant gains on September 7.
Ethereum rose by 1.31% to reach $2,514.89, while Ripple (XRP) increased by 0.41% to $1.42. Solana jumped by a notable 3.02% to $106.42. In contrast, Binance Coin (BNB) fell by 1.79% to $752.22.
The virtual asset market is closely watching the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on September 15-16, as a potential rate hike looms due to strong US employment data. According to CME FedWatch, participants in the federal funds rate futures market see a 58.4% chance of a 0.25 percentage point rate hike this month.
The CoinMarketCap 'virtual asset fear and greed index' has improved significantly, reaching 75 and entering the 'greed' stage. This marks a substantial recovery from last month's 38, which remained at the 'fear' level.
