Bitcoin Retreats from Record Peak Amid Sustained Rally
Bitcoin's price has retreated slightly from its recent peak of $87,281 after a sharp 15% rally. As of September 22, it is trading at $85,631.47, up 5.36% over the past 24 hours and 10.28% for the week.
The rally was driven by improved sentiment and institutional demand, with falling oil prices and easing long-term Treasury yields reducing inflation and liquidity pressures on crypto markets.
Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, noted that Bitcoin's move above $86,000 marks a notable shift in market sentiment after several months of sustained pressure. The recovery above the important $80,000 level, alongside the formation of a golden cross, has added confidence to the broader market.
Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, warned that the next move will depend on whether BTC can convert the $82,000 area from resistance into support. She also noted that without stronger underlying buying, elevated positioning could make BTC vulnerable to sharper pullbacks.
