Bitcoin Rides Out Fed Chair Comments with Rate Hike Odds Soaring

Bitcoin's price has shown resilience against Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's comments on inflation. In his first major speech, Warsh stated that he had 'more work to do' to fight inflation and emphasized the need for underlying inflation to reach its target speed. This news would typically be bearish for Bitcoin, which tends to thrive in low interest rate environments.

However, despite a temporary dip to $78,630, Bitcoin quickly rebounded and is now trading at around $79,474. Traders had initially priced in a 50% chance of a rate hike in September following Warsh's speech, but the market has since shrugged off this news.

The recent price surge can be attributed to positive regulatory developments, including President Donald Trump's endorsement of the Clarity Act and the U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's announcement to double the size of its long-dated bond buybacks. These moves have sent yields down lower and boosted non-yielding assets like Bitcoin and gold.
