Bitcoin Rises Past $77k Amid SEC Regulatory Boost

The cryptocurrency market saw a significant boost on Friday, with Bitcoin rising to $77,560.9 after reversing most of its weekly losses. The gains came as encouraging regulatory moves from the SEC helped markets look past the failure of the Clarity Act in Congress.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission introduced a five-year exemption allowing companies to offer trading in blockchain-based stocks, or 'tokenized' securities. This move is expected to bring digital assets more in line with traditional finance and facilitate 24-hour trade.

Broader crypto prices also firmed up on Friday, with altcoins leading the charge. The SEC's tokenization exemption stands to mainly benefit blockchains apart from Bitcoin, which has already offered tokenized stocks.
