Bitcoin RSI Surges to 86 as $80K Price Level Looms
Bitcoin's Relative Strength Index (RSI) has surged to approximately 86, marking its strongest overbought condition in nearly two years. The cryptocurrency broke decisively above its long-held trading range of $62,000 to $71,000, rallying as much as 12% in a single day and briefly approaching the $80,000 price level.
The RSI measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes, with readings above 70 typically signaling overbought conditions. A climb to 86 is rare, indicating extreme bullish momentum, but historically such elevated readings have sometimes preceded short-term pullbacks before persisting for extended periods during strong uptrends.
According to Crypto Briefing, 'In a strong upward trend, the RSI can remain in overbought territory for a long time, so it is difficult to interpret it as an immediate signal of a price drop.' A key point to watch is whether the $77,000 support level holds.
