Bitcoin Scales New Heights with Reduced Leverage
Bitcoin's price has surged by approximately 35% from its August low, but this rally is not accompanied by an increase in leverage in the derivatives market. In fact, open interest measured in BTC has fallen about 20% over the same period, reaching its lowest level since March.
This indicates that derivatives leverage did not surge alongside the price rally, which may make the current uptrend less vulnerable to sharp price corrections triggered by large-scale liquidations of leveraged positions. According to Glassnode, an on-chain analytics firm, this could be a positive sign for Bitcoin's continued growth.
