Bitcoin Secures Historic Q3 First with Uninterrupted Monthly Gains
Bitcoin made history at the end of the third quarter by closing higher in all three months, July, August, and September, according to a post based on CoinGlass data. This marks the first time in history that all three months of a quarter have closed in the green. The data from CoinMarketCap, shared on October 2 and reshared by CoinGlass, shows that Bitcoin's monthly return records have never seen a quarter with all three months closing positive in the same year. In this case, every month in the third quarter ended with gains compared to the previous month's close.
The notable detail is that all three months making up the third quarter ended in the green. This means that Bitcoin extended July's rise with positive closes in August and September, completing the quarter with uninterrupted monthly gains. A quarter does not need every month within it to be positive to finish with an overall gain, but this time, Bitcoin achieved a rare feat.
