Bitcoin Seeks $100,000 Threshold with $300 Billion in Fresh Capital Needed
Despite its recent 42% three-month rally, Bitcoin remains down 23% over the past year and trades at nearly half its all-time high of $126,000. To reach a price of $100,000 in 2027, it would require roughly $300 billion in fresh capital from outside the crypto market.
Bitcoin currently commands 59% of the total cryptocurrency market, which is valued at $2.9 trillion. If it were to reach $100,000, its market capitalization would grow to around $2 trillion, an increase of about $300 billion.
A monthly close below $63,694 would erase all July gains and could send Bitcoin toward $58,524, confirming the recent rally as a short-term bounce within a longer-term decline.
