Bitcoin Seeks First Q3 Win Streak Since 2012 Amid Market Uncertainty
Bitcoin is on track to achieve its first Q3 winning streak since 2012. With July and August already closed higher, September's performance will determine whether it maintains this momentum.
In 2012, Bitcoin saw a similar winning streak from July to September, but the market's behavior after that period was far from consistent. After closing at around $12 in September 2012, Bitcoin dipped by nearly 10% to around $11 in October.
However, this downturn was followed by a significant rally that pushed Bitcoin up to nearly $266 by April 2013, representing an astonishing 2,000% increase from its September 2012 close. This unique case highlights the importance of understanding market trends and not relying solely on historical patterns.
The current market has changed dramatically since 2012, with substantial institutional buyers now participating in the market. The introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs has provided additional support, which was lacking during the 2012 winning streak.
