Bitcoin Seeks Momentum Above $90K Amid Liquidity Hopes
Bitcoin has regained momentum above $87,000, but the path to $100,000 remains uncertain due to resistance near $90,000. The recovery followed a decisive move above the $65,000-$65,050 resistance zone, allowing BTC to reclaim $70,000 and extend its advance.
Liquidity expectations have provided another catalyst for Bitcoin. The U.S. Treasury announced plans to double the maximum size of its longer-term bond buyback operations from $2 billion to $4 billion per session. This move targets the 10-year, 20-year, and 30-year Treasury sectors after benchmark yields reached elevated levels amid persistent inflation concerns and energy-price pressures.
Bernstein strategist Gautam Chhugani noted that Bitcoin has historically responded positively to liquidity expansion. Expectations for easier financial conditions could therefore provide support for digital assets, although the sustainability of the move will depend on broader macroeconomic conditions.
Tether plans to relaunch USDT on the Bitcoin network in October 2026, allowing tokens to operate on Bitcoin while keeping much of the transaction information off the public ledger. The project could support private transfers, BTC-to-USDT transactions, and Bitcoin-backed lending, while integration with the Lightning Network could further expand payment functionality.
