Bitcoin Sees $2.39B ETF Inflows Amid Volatility, Traders Caught Off Guard by Price Drop
Crypto markets saw significant activity last week, with Bitcoin (BTC) experiencing both inflows and outflows. According to TradingView, there were approximately $2.39 billion in weekly spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows into BTCUSD, a sign of accumulation amid recent volatility.
Additionally, around 31,800 Bitcoins were withdrawn from exchanges last week, further indicating investor interest in holding onto the asset rather than selling it. This trend is contrary to what was seen during the 2025-2026 bear market, when ETF inflows historically linked to Bitcoin gains weakened significantly.
However, despite these signs of accumulation, some traders were caught off guard by a sudden drop in prices. Approximately $70 million in BTCUSD spot-CFD long positions were liquidated over a 24-hour period as Bitcoin's value weakened.
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe emphasized that one key price level will largely decide the next move for BTCUSD, marking a critical threshold for further upside. Currently, BTCUSD is trading near $82,942, down around 2.2% in the last 24 hours.
