Bitcoin Sees Record Exchange Outflows Amid Rising Self-Custody
Bitcoin (BTC) witnessed significant exchange outflows last week, with ~31,782 BTC (~$2.52B) withdrawn from exchanges. Binance led the way, seeing a net withdrawal of ~19,500 BTC on one day alone, exceeding 13,800 BTC. Coinbase Pro followed closely behind, withdrawing ~6,700 BTC, while Kraken took ~2,816 BTC.
Crypto Briefing reports that retail-sized holders are moving coins off exchanges into self-custody, while institutions are routing funds into US spot Bitcoin ETFs. This shows simultaneous exchange outflows and ETF inflows.
BTCUSD is currently trading above the True Market Mean near $77,000 and above June 2026's realized-price low. If price holds on-chain support, this would be the shallowest bear-market bottom since 2017.
