Bitcoin has surged past $85,000 for the first time since January, reaching an eight-month high. The token traded as high as $85,248 on Monday after closing last week at $81,120.
The move marked Bitcoin's first return above $85,000 since late January. BTC was later trading around $85,139, up roughly 5.7% on the day.
Bitcoin has reclaimed its 50-week exponential moving average near $77,769 after closing last week at $81,120.
