Bitcoin Slides Below $65,000 as Gold Holds Steady Amid Ongoing Iran Tensions
The cryptocurrency market is showing signs of trimming its gains from last week as Bitcoin (BTC) slides below $65,000. In contrast, Gold (XAU/USD) remains bullish, trading above $4,350.
US President Donald Trump has claimed to be 'semi-negotiating' with Iran and letting economic pressure pile on the country. However, Tehran maintains it is not actively engaging in talks with the US.
Oil prices have surged, breaking above $80 per barrel of Crude as per West Texas Intermediate (WTI) pricing. Iran has emphasized that the strategic talks with Oman to reopen the Strait of Hormuz will not suffice unless the US meets certain conditions.
BTC/USDT daily chart analysis shows Bitcoin is still holding above the upward-sloping trendline support from $57,828, indicating a consolidative rather than deteriorating structure. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) around 51 and a slightly positive Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) reading hint at stabilizing but not impulsive upside momentum.
The immediate resistance for Bitcoin lies at the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), followed by the 100-day EMA and then the more distant 200-day EMA, forming a dense overhead supply zone that bulls would need to reclaim to re-establish an uptrend.
