Bitcoin Slides Below $84K as Treasury Yields Hit 2007 High
Bitcoin price slipped below $84,000 on Tuesday as the US 10-year Treasury yield reached its highest level since 2007. This move put pressure on risk assets and led to a broader market pullback.
The sharp rise in borrowing costs and a strengthening dollar interrupted crypto momentum, reversing part of the rally that had carried Bitcoin above $87,000. The token traded near $83,344 after the Treasury yield surge.
XRP suffered one of the sharpest declines among major tokens, falling toward $1.46 as sellers regained control around a level that emerged as a technical target. The failed breakout turned $1.60 from an upside objective into a visible resistance zone.
The decline was broad, with Ether and Solana extending losses across altcoins. Dogecoin weakened to just above $0.09, while Hyperliquid's HYPE fell toward $90 after setting a record high.
