Bitcoin Slips Below $64K Despite $233M Institutional Influx
Bitcoin's price has dipped below $64,000 despite a significant influx of institutional investors. American spot ETFs attracted $233.1 million in one session, their best performance in over three weeks.
The funds that benefited from this surge include BlackRock's IBIT fund, which recorded net inflows of $183.4 million and accounted for nearly 79% of the total capital collected during the session. This dominance is not surprising given IBIT's size, liquidity, and distribution network.
However, despite this influx of capital, Bitcoin's price has refused to rebound. The current gap between ETFs and the spot market may seem puzzling, but it highlights the complex dynamics at play in global markets. Strong fundraising can support prices medium-term, but it is not enough to offset broader selling pressure.
The session brings weekly net inflows to about $203.8 million, with funds showing nearly $437.8 million in net inflows over the entire month of July. While this regularity matters more than a single spectacular day, the market ultimately sends mixed signals, indicating short-term caution and institutional demand.
