Bitcoin Slips Below $84,000 as Global Market Capitalization Drops

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization dropped to $2.97 trillion over the last 24 hours, down 0.60%. Bitcoin slipped below $84,000 after briefly topping $85,000 earlier in the day.

Ethereum's price wobbled between $2,667 and $2,720, while Dogecoin gained 0.70% to reach $0.09675. Over $190 million was liquidated from the market, split nearly evenly between long and short positions.

Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe identified $84,800 as the key resistance Bitcoin must break to continue its upward trend. 'If that breaks,' he said, 'I think that we'll see a continuation towards the $90,000 levels.'
