Bitcoin Slips Below $84,000 as Markets Stagnate Amid US-Iran Tensions
Cryptocurrency markets were largely stagnant on Sunday as investors weighed in on ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations and anticipated macroeconomic data. Bitcoin slipped below $84,000 after briefly topping $85,000 earlier in the day.
Ethereum's price wobbled between $2,667 and $2,720, while Dogecoin gained 0.7% to reach $0.09675. Solana also saw a slight increase of 1%, reaching $122.
According to Coinglass data, over $190 million was liquidated from the market in the last 24 hours, with long and short positions split nearly evenly.
Michaël van de Poppe, a well-known cryptocurrency analyst and trader, believes that if Bitcoin breaks through the $84,800 resistance level, it could lead to a continuation towards $90,000 levels. However, Aksel Kibar, a chartered market technician, noted that the weekly candle near $84,000-$85,000 does not look like a decisive breakout.
