Bitcoin Slips Below $84K After Daily Decline
Bitcoin's price has dropped below $84,000 after a daily decline of 2.74%, according to CoinMarketCap. The pullback comes after a weekly advance that took Bitcoin above $87,000, with CoinGecko reporting a seven-day gain of approximately 10.6%.
The current price is slightly below the $84,000 threshold, with a 24-hour low of $83,519.73 recorded by CoinMarketCap. The broader weekly range remains considerably wider, with a seven-day low of $75,971.64 and a high of $87,329.89.
The daily and weekly readings capture different price movements: a retreat from recent highs within a period that still shows a double-digit percentage gain. A recovery from $84,000 to $88,000 would represent an increase of approximately 4.8%, but this upper level is roughly $670 above CoinGecko's recorded weekly high.
The area around $79,000 also overlaps with Bitcoin's recently reclaimed 50-week simple moving average, according to Kathy Lien's analysis from September 23. A pullback toward $79,000 would bring Bitcoin close to that longer-term trend reference, around 6% below $84,000.
