Bitcoin Slumps as High Yields and Strong Dollar Weigh on Market
Bitcoin and Ethereum prices dropped significantly on Monday after showing positive recovery in recent trading. BTC fell by 1.92% to $82,828.12 from its previous high of $84,457.30, while ETH dropped by 0.7% to $2,662.70 from $2,687.59.
The decline is attributed to various factors including high U.S. Bond yields, a strong U.S. Dollar, and a spike in oil prices. Additionally, the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly with Iran's strategy of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, have also contributed to the market volatility.
Despite the current downturn, analysts believe that Bitcoin has hit its lowest ebb and may be poised for a rebound. The bitcoin options market has flipped bullish for the first time in 12 months, with many traders betting on a price target of $80,000 or higher by December.
