Bitcoin Slumps Below $82,700 Amid Sell-Off and Geopolitical Uncertainty
Bitcoin fell to its lowest point in weeks, dropping below $82,700 for the first time since September 21. The decline came after earlier gains stalled at around $84,450 and failed to reach new highs above $87,000.
The price drop was attributed to a sudden buildup of sell-side orders on exchange books around $85,700, which triggered notable liquidations and weakened broader risk sentiment.
US stock-market futures weakened alongside crude oil strength after President Donald Trump declined to rule out further strikes on Iran, contributing to the decline in crypto markets.
Aksel Kibar warned that Bitcoin could revisit the sub-$80,000 area if momentum doesn't quickly stabilize and regain its upward momentum. The market's hesitation to continue pushing toward higher levels suggests that bulls still need a clearer sequence of higher highs and higher lows.
