Bitcoin Smashes Stock Market Records Over Four-Year Horizons
Bitcoin's performance over four-year investment horizons is impressive, according to Willy Woo. In fact, he points out that the cryptocurrency has never underperformed stocks in this timeframe. Even if investors bought at the very top, bitcoin's compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is a staggering 42%. To put this into perspective, Renaissance Technologies, a renowned hedge fund, delivered 39% returns for its investors.
The current market conditions are supporting the crypto sector. US spot bitcoin ETFs have been attracting billions of dollars in September, with several large inflows towards the end of the month. Additionally, Strategy has added another 1,665 BTC to its reserves. The macroeconomic backdrop is also improving, with August inflation coming in below expectations and Treasury yields temporarily decreasing.
The crypto market is entering the fourth quarter with stronger momentum than stocks or gold. Willy Woo notes that demand for bitcoin ETFs, corporate bitcoin accumulation, improved regulatory clarity, and renewed interest in altcoins are all contributing factors. However, rising bond yields and excessive leverage could trigger sharp pullbacks, according to experts.
