Bitcoin Soars 42.9% in Q3 as ETF Inflows Drive Demand
Bitcoin had its best quarter since 2017 in Q3 2026, with a gain of 42.9% that left traditional assets like gold and stocks behind.
The cryptocurrency's price started near $58,500 at the beginning of the quarter and closed between $83,000 and $86,000 by September's end.
This rally ended a three-quarter losing streak for Bitcoin and marked its strongest third quarter since Q4 2024.
A large share of demand came through US spot Bitcoin ETFs, with inflows totaling around $6.3 billion for the quarter, including $2.4 billion in the week ending September 25 alone.
Cooling inflation and a less hawkish Fed outlook contributed to the rally, but there are clear risks on the horizon, including elevated Treasury yields and potential changes in the macro picture.
