Bitcoin Soars Above $86,000 as Weak NFP Report Eases Rate Hike Expectations
The cryptocurrency market is seeing a recovery on Friday, led by Bitcoin's rise above $86,000. The US Non-Farm Payroll (NFP) report for September showed a weaker-than-expected job creation number of 29,000, falling short of the 90,000 forecast.
This missed forecast has eased the odds of an October interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve, now averaging 18%, according to CME Group's FedWatch tool. The reduction in rate hike expectations has provided more room for risk assets like Bitcoin and Gold to move higher.
Gold is also seeing a recovery, trading near $4,200 after two consecutive days of gains. However, the metal remains capped below key moving-average clusters and technical indicators suggest subdued bullish conviction.
