Bitcoin Soars Past $85,000 as Analysts Eye $95,000 to $100,000 Range
The Bitcoin price surged past $85,000 after a week of market fluctuations, defying expectations of a downturn following the Senate's rejection of the CLARITY Act and a Federal Reserve interest rate hike.
In the days leading up to the Fed's decision, Bitcoin had dipped below $75,000 but recovered quickly, closing above its 50-week moving average for the first time in nearly a year on September 20. Analysts are now speculating about the potential for further growth, with some predicting that Bitcoin could reach the $95,000 to $100,000 range.
Jesse Marre, a senior portfolio manager at Hilbert Group, identified $75,000 as strong support and notes that consistent inflows from ETFs will be crucial in maintaining this momentum. According to Marre, these institutions now hold around 6.3% of all Bitcoin, meaning their collective buying power can significantly impact the price.
The Treasury market's slight drop in 10-year yields offered a moment of relief, but this brief reprieve didn't last as yields returned to their previous high. The narrow gap between 10-year and 2-year yields suggests investors are bracing for slower future growth, and a daily close below $75,000 would be a warning sign.
