Bitcoin Soars Past $87K Amid Weaker Jobs Data
Bitcoin (BTC) spiked past $87,000 on Friday in reaction to weaker-than-expected US jobs data. The September nonfarm payrolls report showed the economy added just 29,000 jobs against a forecast of 84,000.
The August numbers were also revised lower from 162,000 to 133,000. This marked the third weakest jobs report of 2026, according to trading resource The Kobeissi Letter.
US bond yields fell for a second consecutive day, with the 30-year yield at 5.573% and the 10-year at 5.2%. Analysts say this could be a catalyst for further upside in Bitcoin's price.
