Bitcoin Spot ETFs Log $433M Inflows Amidst Ongoing Holdings Decline
Despite recording $433 million in net inflows on Sept. 18, Bitcoin spot ETFs lost around 5,700 BTC across two consecutive negative weeks. The decline was attributed to pessimistic news involving rate hikes and conflicts by Darkfost. Fidelity's FBTC led the way with $311 million in inflows, followed by BlackRock's IBIT with $108 million. In contrast, Ethereum spot ETFs saw a surge of $144 million on Sept. 18, with BlackRock's ETHA accounting for $114 million.
The trend of ETF holdings falling despite daily inflows is not new. A chart from January 2024 to September 2026 shows that the relationship between Bitcoin's price and ETF flows has been mixed. While some days saw inflows exceeding $1 billion, others experienced outflows of similar magnitude. The latest data suggests that this pattern continues into 2026.
Bitcoin still delivered a solid performance during the latest week despite the decline in ETF holdings. However, the overall flow pattern remains mixed, with both inflows and outflows being visible throughout the chart.
