Bitcoin Spot ETFs See Net Inflows Plummet from Record Peak
Bitcoin spot ETFs have seen their cumulative net inflows settle at $55 billion, down from a peak of roughly $63 billion in October 2025. This represents a meaningful retreat, but still above the trough near $50 billion.
The market experienced a vigorous stretch of buying in late August and early September 2026, with approximately $3.8 billion pouring into spot Bitcoin ETFs over three weeks. This surge temporarily pushed total assets under management past the $101 billion threshold.
However, mid-September brought consecutive days of sharp outflows, including single-day net reductions of $296 million and $450 million on September 15 and 16 respectively.
The winners in this space include BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which has seen cumulative inflows exceeding $63 billion on their own. In contrast, Grayscale's GBTC has hemorrhaged capital since its conversion to an ETF format, with net outflows now exceeding $27 billion.
