Bitcoin Spot Volume Crashes to 2024 Low Amid Price Decline
The Bitcoin spot volume has plummeted to its lowest level since 2024, falling to around $4.5 billion a day. This marks a significant decline from the peak of over $25 billion per day reached during the 2025 crypto bull market.
The recent drop in spot volume is attributed to reduced whale activity and slower accumulation by long-term investors. According to metrics from Checkonchain, long-term Bitcoin holders' net additions have dropped from around 40,000 BTC in late May to about 14,000 BTC in late July.
Bitcoin's price has also suffered as a result of the decline in spot volume, plummeting over 45% in the past year. At press time, the asset traded at $63,710, down 1.82% over the past seven days.
