Bitcoin Stages Significant Recovery Above $85,000 Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Bitcoin has staged a significant recovery after falling below $76,000 last week. The cryptocurrency price rebounded by more than 10% from its low near the mid-$75,000 area and broke back above $85,000.
The rally came despite higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve, which increased its target range to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16. The move was expected by traders, who had already priced in a possible rate hike before the decision.
Additionally, the CLARITY Act, a proposed bill aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency market, stalled in the Senate after failing to advance past a procedural vote. However, regulators have continued their work on crypto rules, and existing joint SEC and CFTC efforts are guiding several asset categories.
