Bitcoin Stays Put as Equities Surge
Singapore's WEEX Exchange reports that Bitcoin held steady at around $65,000 as major US equities indices surged on Thursday, August 2, 2026. The Nasdaq Composite rose 2.8% to 25,122.18, while the S&P 500 gained 1.7% and the Dow added 613.92 points.
WEEX notes that Bitcoin's price action has been characterized by a range-bound behavior, with prices oscillating between $64,000 and $65,000 in recent days. This phenomenon is attributed to a changed volatility regime rather than a broken correlation between cryptocurrencies and equities.
The exchange also highlights that the muted response of cryptocurrencies to Thursday's record equity rally can be seen as an ambiguity, not a clear directional bias. WEEX offers tools for traders to position themselves in either direction, including up to 400x leverage for Bitcoin perpetual futures and unleveraged exposure or a second leg to run against a BTC position through ETH/USDT spot.
