Bitcoin Stays Steady as US Stocks Slide
Bitcoin defied the decline of US stocks on Wednesday, holding steady above $63,000 as the Nasdaq fell 1.5%.
The CoinDesk Market Index of digital assets ticked up 0.3%, but other major tokens were mixed in their performance.
Ethereum dropped 1.4% and Solana fell 1.6%, while XRP gained 1% and Cardano rose 2.9%.
Total crypto value slipped 0.1% to $2.18 trillion, with industry-wide trading volume falling 3.6% to $64 billion.
However, Bitcoin's own 24-hour volume climbed 2.9% to $26.5 billion, indicating a concentration of activity in the most liquid corner of crypto.
