Bitcoin Suisse Expands into UAE Amid Institutional Investor Surge
Bitcoin Suisse has established its regional presence in Abu Dhabi after receiving Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) at ADGM. This allows the company's regional subsidiary to provide regulated virtual asset services to professional clients.
The move reflects growing confidence in the UAE's regulatory framework and long-term vision for digital finance, said Andrej Majcen, co-founder and chief executive of Bitcoin Suisse. The UAE has demonstrated a clear commitment to embracing innovation and supporting digital assets as part of its financial services sector.
Institutional investors are increasingly driving growth in the digital asset market, with the UAE receiving more than $56 billion in cryptocurrency value between mid-2024 and mid-2025, according to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis. Majcen said that this reflects how the market has matured in recent years, with institutional transactions now a major driver of demand.
Bitcoin Suisse currently safeguards around $3.7 billion in digital assets and is the world's fourth-largest staking operator. Looking ahead, Majcen believes that technologies such as tokenisation, stablecoins, and institutional digital asset custody will have a significant impact on the financial sector.
