Bitcoin Surge Lifts Crypto Stocks to Strongest Week in Years
Crypto-related stocks have seen their strongest week in years as Bitcoin nears $80,000. This surge has pulled up treasury companies, exchanges, and miners, although not all stocks have moved at the same pace.
Strategy (MSTR), a Bitcoin treasury company formerly known as MicroStrategy, gained 29% for the week, its best run in years. Coinbase (COIN) rose 25%, Circle Internet Group (CRCL) climbed 22%, Marathon (MARA) added 21%, and Robinhood (HOOD) gained 13% over the same stretch.
The moves track Bitcoin's advance from the low $60,000s earlier in August to a high above $81,000 this week. Spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen net inflows for seven consecutive days, pulling in more than $2.5 billion and lifting combined fund assets to $98.6 billion from $78.7 billion a week earlier.
Circle Internet Group was the outlier, falling roughly 7% on August 25 amid renewed caution over stablecoin regulatory scrutiny. The stock remains down more than 70% from its all-time high set shortly after its listing in 2025.
