Bitcoin Surges Above $80,000 for First Time Since May
Bitcoin has broken above $80,000 for the first time since mid-May as optimism returns to the long-beaten-down cryptocurrency market.
The price surge is attributed to a combination of bullish signals that led to the liquidation of billions of dollars in leveraged bets.
As a result, Bitcoin rose 2.9% to $81,257 in Asian trading on Tuesday, a level last seen on May 15.
Despite this recent rally, Bitcoin remains well below its peak of about $126,000, reached in October.
