Bitcoin Surges Above $84,000 on Eased Selling Pressure
Bitcoin has reclaimed the $84,000 level after experiencing modest losses the previous day. Continued institutional and corporate demand have eased selling pressure and support a recovery in the world's largest cryptocurrency.
Institutional and corporate demand for Bitcoin remains strong. Data from SoSoValue showed that spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded modest inflows of $31.07 million on Monday, after posting their strongest weekly inflows since October 2025 last week.
The company Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, has acquired an additional 1,665 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 847,666 Bitcoin and its dollar-denominated assets to $6.02 billion. This move signals a return to Saylor's usual strategy of aggressive Bitcoin accumulation, supporting the bullish outlook for the cryptocurrency.
However, profit-taking activity still poses a challenge. Santiment's Network Realized Profit/Loss (NPL) indicator rose sharply on Monday, indicating that Bitcoin holders are selling their holdings at substantial profits and adding to selling pressure. Yet, this spike was less pronounced than those recorded last week, suggesting that profit-taking activity is beginning to ease.
