Bitcoin Surges Above $86,000 on Strong ETF Demand and Investor Rebound
Bitcoin's rebound has extended into its third week, with the cryptocurrency climbing above $86,000 on Friday. This comes as investors returned to risk assets heading into October.
The asset rose by 2.66% before paring gains, and is now trading around $86,200 as of 10:30 a.m. in London. Bitcoin has risen roughly 2% this week due to strong institutional flows into exchange traded funds boosting demand.
Bitcoin's gain of about 40% in the last quarter makes it its biggest since the end of 2024. Some traders have been calling for a bottom in cryptocurrencies, which had been battered for much of 2026 after hitting an all-time high above $126,000 last October.
