Bitcoin's price surge has seen it reach above $87,000, bringing the coveted $100,000 level back into focus for traders.

The rally coincided with gains in technology stocks and may have been boosted by short covering as traders closed their positions against Bitcoin.

US spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $714 million in net inflows during this period, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust leading the way at $350 million.

Corporate demand has also remained strong, with Strategy purchasing another 950 BTC for $75.7 million and reinforcing its position as the largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

However, the macroeconomic environment remains a potential obstacle, with Richmond Federal Reserve President Tom Barkin stating that inflation is still too high and leaving open the possibility of further interest-rate increases.
