Bitcoin Surges on Trump-Iran Talks
Bitcoin surged above $87,000 on Wednesday after President Donald Trump confirmed a 'very good meeting' with Iran's officials at the UN General Assembly.
The meeting, which included US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, was described by Trump as 'very productive,' with another round of talks scheduled in the near future.
Iran had proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 7 days if the US takes initial steps to ease tensions, including military operations. The proposal included lifting the US naval blockade, unfreezing assets, and ending the war on multiple fronts.
The news was seen as a de-escalation signal, with Bitcoin rising another 1% to reclaim $87,000 and extending its rally to almost 8% in a week.
