Bitcoin's price has surpassed $64,000 in Asia hours ahead of the Federal Reserve's rate decision. The broader market is also up, with Bitcoin increasing by 1% on the day. Other major cryptocurrencies are seeing significant gains as well, with Ether rising 1.7% to $1,909 and XRP leading the pack at 2.6%. Despite this momentum, the base case remains a hold, with about 70% of traders expecting the Fed to keep its rate at 3.50% to 3.75%, according to CME data.

Roughly 30% of traders now price in a quarter-point hike, and some notable market players are backing this scenario. Citadel Securities told clients that it expects a surprise increase this week to boost the Fed's credibility on inflation-fighting. UBS also stated that such a move would not be surprising.

The upcoming Federal Reserve decision will have significant implications for the market, particularly given the current volatility. As the Fed weighs its options, traders are eagerly anticipating the outcome.
