Bitcoin surged to nearly $82,000 on September 19 after rising 5% overnight. This move lifted the broader crypto market, with Ethereum gaining 5.8% to $2,600 and Solana adding over 7% to $112.
The rally was accompanied by large-scale liquidations, with 118,139 traders seeing their positions forcibly closed, totaling $613.7 million. Most of this came from shorts, with $536 million in losses.
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs also saw increased inflows on September 18, attracting $433 million, following a smaller influx of $159 million the previous day.
