Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 as ETF Inflows Soar
Bitcoin has broken through $80,000 for the first time since May 15, extending its recovery from late-June lows near $58,000. The price surge comes as U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $1.9 billion in inflows last week, the largest since October 2025.
Analysts point to shifting U.S. Treasury policy as a key driver of the move. The Treasury doubled its planned buybacks of long-dated government bonds and suggested it could use its nearly $1 trillion General Account to fund those purchases. Falling Treasury yields have also offered broader relief to risk assets, including crypto.
The price rise has triggered over $220 million in crypto short liquidations in the 24 hours around the move. A cluster of bid liquidity sits near $76,700, which analysts see as a potential support level if prices pull back.
